| Post 4: The Pros and Cons of the Themes (Part 1)
I
remember back when I started Xanga, around 2003, I had no idea how to
make a layout. Seriously, my first layout was a blue background, by the
help of the look and feel section, and finding the perfect blue color
code in the background code for it. I was so proud of myself.
Maybe because I had no idea how other people had nicer blogs than mine,
but then again I don't like the fancy blogs, you know the flashy blogs,
I believe people should enjoy reading the content of the blogs and not
other stuff, I like the simple layouts. That's just who I am. Until
there was a fight on a c-box (yeah...) by someone who said I couldn't
put up a layout: here's the content form the blog: "Who are you to demand attention? Are you so desperate for it?
If so, this would tip off that you are Ms. Ice.
Of course, Ms. Ice is too slow to put up that background." OK,
I was like what the fuck. Who is this? I know now who it is now.
Anyway, when that happened, I decided to find any layout and just post
it there to prove a point, you know what, I'm glad I did because that's
when I started learning html codes in order to create layouts....OOOOH.
I essentially said in your face bitch, when I posted the layout and
then learned how to make layouts.
But I have to say, I
remember being the beginner Xanga writer wondering how to help to get
layouts. I guess a lot of newbies decided to complain, and thus Themes
were created.
I must say I like the themes, but I also dislike the themes at the same time.
I
have to say themes are good for newbies to have something nice to look
at while at the same time bad for those who are in the layout business.
(I am stopping here today, and write more another day. I actually need to write down the pros and cons for the themes :P)
Next post: I know that this was a
long post... Is about the pros and cons of the Themes: More thoughts on it....(Update: next
week, not sure!) or next post might be any other thoughts I have (I am still working on this...)
Please note this is not finished!
